LONG BEACH, California - June 2026

GB Remanufacturing, Inc. is proud to celebrate its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of innovation, growth and commitment to the automotive aftermarket.
Founded in 1986 by Bill and Michael Kitching, GB began in a leased 1,100 square-foot facility in Signal Hill, California, remanufacturing carburetor choke pull-offs for carburetor rebuilders.
President and CEO Michael Kitching reflected on the company’s beginnings. “The early years weren't easy. There were many times when my dad and I wondered whether we'd make it through another year. Looking back, it's remarkable to see how far we've come.”
As automotive technology evolved, GB evolved alongside it. What started as a small family business has grown into a leading remanufacturer of gasoline and diesel fuel injection products serving customers throughout North America and around the world. Today, GB employs more than 170 team members and offers more than 1,500 products out of its multiple facilities in Long Beach, California.
Kitching states that the company’s success has always been rooted in its people. “For 40 years, our employees, customers and supplier partners have been the foundation of everything we've accomplished," said Kitching.
Over the past four decades, GB has successfully adapted to significant changes in vehicle technology from carburetors and early fuel injection systems to today's advanced gasoline direct injection (GDI) and diesel fuel systems. Throughout every stage of growth, the company has remained committed to delivering high-quality remanufactured products and exceptional customer support.
Vice President Joe Evert said the company's growth is a direct result of its commitment to continuous improvement.
"We've always believed there's a better way to do things. Whether it's developing new products, investing in our facilities, improving our processes or growing our team, we've never stopped looking for ways to be more competitive. That commitment has helped GB grow over the past 40 years and it's what will continue to drive us forward."
As GB enters its fifth decade, the company's future continues to be guided by family leadership. Representing the third generation, Andrew Kitching serves as Director of Sales, Ryan Kitching as Engineering Manager and Delaney Kitching as Marketing Manager. Together, they continue the legacy established by Bill and Michael Kitching while helping position GB for the future of the automotive aftermarket.
As GB celebrates this milestone, the company remains focused on supporting its customers, investing in its team and advancing remanufacturing solutions for the next generation of vehicles.
“I think my dad would be so proud to know that the small company we started together in his garage is still family-owned, still remanufacturing in America and still guided by the same principles we believed in from the start,” said Kitching. “We look forward to continuing our legacy for many years to come.”
